1. The Commission Protocol: All bespoke watercolor portrait requests are initiated via private consultation. Submission of a request does not guarantee studio placement. Placement on the studio ledger is officially secured only upon receipt of a non-refundable 50% design retainer invoice and mutual approval of the client's reference materials.
2. High-Value Intellectual Property & Image Rights: By uploading reference files (including private residence photographs, pet reference images, and family portraiture), the client certifies they own the legal rights to said imagery. The client grants Shil Studios a non-exclusive license to utilize these references solely to execute the hand-painted commission. Shil Studios retains full legal copyright over all final artwork.
3. Elite Creative Control & Revision Bounds: To protect the artistic integrity of the masterwork, final creative execution rests entirely with the artist. For custom portrait commissions, the studio will provide one (1) digital layout sketch for foundational composition approval before permanent watercolor pigments are cast. Any structural changes requested after color application has begun are subject to custom studio alteration fees.
4. Premium Nationwide Fulfillment & Delivery Logistics
- Bespoke Portrait Commissions: Final remaining balances must be cleared in full prior to secure studio dispatch. Once balances are settled, custom paintings are carefully prepared using archival-grade protective materials and shipped nationwide via premium, fully insured courier networks.
- The Wearable Art Collection: Ready-to-ship jewelry capsule pieces are processed and packed within 2–3 business days of order confirmation.
- Logistical Boundaries: All packages are shipped with tracking enabled. Shil Studios is not liable for structural carrier delays, transit disruptions, customs bottlenecks, or incorrect address entries once tracking has been initialized by the courier.
5. Strict Return & Exchange Framework
- Bespoke Portrait Commissions: Due to the deeply personalized, hand-painted nature of custom watercolor portraiture, all commission balances and design retainers are strictly non-refundable. No returns, alterations, or exchanges are accepted upon final studio completion.
- The Wearable Art Collection:To preserve pristine studio hygiene standards and the limited, collectible nature of our hand-cast jewelry pieces, all earring purchases are final sale. We do not accept standard returns, refunds, or style changes.
- Damaged Carrier Exceptions: In the singular exception that a wearable art piece arrives physically broken or damaged during transit, the buyer must notify the studio via email (shilshan@shilstudios.com) within forty-eight (48) hours of the courier-stamped delivery date. The email must include clear photographic proof of the damaged shipping container and the unused item. Upon verification, the studio will coordinate an archival studio repair or an equivalent collection credit.
